Dear <<First Name>>

A Farewell from Femina
"As many of you may already be aware I will be leaving at the end of September. The last two years at Learn English at Home have been hugely rewarding and a great deal of fun. I have met the most dedicated staff team that I have ever worked with. I have been supported by a hugely committed Management Committee. And I have had the pleasure of meeting and working with some of the most diligent volunteers – who freely give up their time on a weekly basis to give people a ‘voice’. I'm really sad to be leaving Learn English at Home and am immensely proud of all we have achieved together. It's reassuring to know that the reins are now passing to the hands of a new competent and focused director. Thank you all for your confidence and support that you have shown in me on this journey. Never forget that you are all working for a great local charity that truly makes a difference to each individual’s life. You should be proud of that."

Welcome Val
Sandra Hansel our office assistant has also left to return to Germany and has been replaced by Val Jermy. Please say hello next time you pop into the office.

Lush visits Kingston Conversation Class

We had the opportunity to learn lots of new vocabulary when staff from LUSH in Kingston visited one of our classes recently. Clients were invited to smell and sample a range of products made from natural ingredients such as lavender, rose and coconut. We had a fun lesson and very much enjoyed our pampering session.

Fundraising Successes

Over the last quarter with your help we have raised over £3,000. The Dragon Boat Challenge was a huge success with the current total raised standing at c.£1,900. Thank you to everyone who participated and donated - we really appreciate all your support. For any last minute donations, please go to http://localgiving.com/fundraising/leahdragon

Thanks also to: everyone who came to the fundraising dinner at Deea; Christ Church Kingston who donated the proceeds from its pub quiz and to VSO Kingston who donated its sweepstake fund.

As a small independent charity this money is vital to helping us continue existing services and gives the flexibility to respond to new service requirements as and when they arise. If you have any ideas for future fundraising events or would like to get involved please call or email Louise.

Learn English and Be Healthy

Do you know a mum with children 0-5 who would like to learn English, meet new people and take part in fun activities? The new Learn English and Be Healthy course, which starts on 16th September, will focus on helping clients learn more about their children's health. More details.

New Timetable

Conversation classes start up again w.c. 8 September. For details of the new timetable see our website. If you know of anyone who might be interested in any of our services please contact us in the office.
