Changing Moldova -  One Student at      a Time

Dear Friends,
Thank you for praying for the fellowship and for encouraging us by your partnership in our gospel ministry among students in Moldova. In the month of July between the 20th - 29th, 'Formacion' took place. This is one of the best training events for students in Eurasia and takes place biannually. This year it had the theme: “Out of your comfort zone”. Participants were challenged to take new steps in evangelism, discipline others, leadership and in spiritual disciplines. They met Jesus in a fresh way and grew in their ability to work in a team.
Thank you for praying for all the students, especially those from Moldova, with whom Jesus wants to build his kingdom in the university.

I am grateful to God for the possibility that He offered to me this year to participate in the Eurasia conference for student leaders Formacion, which took place from the 20th to 29th July. The motto of the conference was ''out of the comfort zone''. At the seminars on evangelism, leadership, discipleship and other topics, I personally was challenged by God to get out of my comfort zone in order to win students for Christ.  This conference went beyond all the hopes and expectations that I had beforehand of the Lord. Most of all I was struck by the evangelism seminar by Michael Ots, ''sharing the gospel through questions''.  He spoke about how questions help us to start a discussion, which for me has always been hard to do. Through questions we show an interest in the person with whom we are discussing. In particular, this idea inspired me and encouraged me in evangelism and returning home, this will help me overcome the fear and discomfort when I start discussions with others about God. Something else which inspired me is ''triplets'', that is prayer groups formed out of three people, where we shared worries, but also blessings over the course of the conference. These three people become the closest people in prayer and discussion. I think that in our ministry this is the instrument through which we can cultivate unity and we can support and help each other. It was also encouraging for me to see growth in the students with whom I came from Moldova, and I ask you to pray for us so that we can put into practice what we learnt at this special conference.

This conference was very special for me. Here I had the opportunity to get to know new and interesting people. However most importantly, it helped me to come closer to God and to understand better His calling for me.       I saw that although we are all different, nevertheless we are united by the Gospel, God, love for students.
I participated in different seminars: personal development, images of leadership, the difficulties of a student leader, how to evangelise students through theatre and the arts and many others. All these helped me to grow more in my perspective as a leader. In particular, I was inspired by the idea of organising a mission week in my country. My desire is that we will organise this mission week so that students can hear about and accept Jesus through our ministry. I thank the organisers, IFES, for the possibility to participate in this conference and so to get to know students from other movements, who have a living desire for evangelism and who want to be a light, as students are the future of each country. Formacion has helped to form us as leaders for this future. Formacion also helped me to realise that I want to help students to be an example for other students in my city.

I thank God for the possibility to have been at Formacion and that I've been invited into the IFES family. In those 10 days, my faith and desire to serve God and to tell other students has grown. Now I realise more the need to spend a personal time with God. I was motivated to speak about God to other students, not just through words, but also by deeds. Only by prayer and daily Bible reading can we grow in faith and have victory over fear and embarrassment to share the gospel and over temptations. Pray for me that God will give me courage and wisdom to use each opportunity to share the gospel with my colleagues. And I thank all those who have supported us in this journey, I thank the organisers, speakers, God has a reward for each of you, as you can't imagine how much this conference meant for us!
