Clarence Frink was born in 1879 and began acquiring his dairy interests in Colorado in 1902. He built his creamery headquarters in Larkspur where the unique grasses made for a good supply of milk and the business provided a livelihood for local residents and ranchers. The creameries expanded into Castle Rock, Sedalia, Spring Valley, Kiowa and Monument. C.G. Carlson from Denver joined Frink in his endeavor and together they controlled the dairy business in Douglas County for several years. The Carlson Frink Creamery was well known for its Black Canyon Cheese that were distributed throughout the state. When in full operation the creamery used 800 pounds of milk a day. A gallon of milk sold for 10 cents and a half-gallon for 5 cents. Clarence Frink Passed away in 1945 and is buried at Bear Canyon Cemetery with his wife and two sons. In 1965 a flood destroyed what was left of the disbanding Carlson Frink Creamery. The Frink family home can still be seen in Larkspur on Spruce Mountain Road.

Free to a good home or for a small donation. The Museum has 10 of these storage containers which are not in use. If you are interested or want more information call the museum. They are about 2 ft in diameter and about 4 ft in height.

Recycle - Save those aluminum cans!! A HUGE thank you to those who have been donating cans!!
The museum collects and recycles aluminum cans to raise money for matching grants. Bring those cans to the museum and use the green container next to the bathroom. Aluminum cans only please. Anything else will be removed by the recycling company. Help the environment and raise a little money for the museum.
