First Hill Community News and Updates

First Hill public meeting September 9th to focus on Land Use and Development

Join us this Tuesday, September 9th, at 6pm in the Frye Art Museum Auditorium to learn about development projects planned and underway on First Hill.

All corners of the neighborhood are growing, and we'll hear about high rises, open spaces, and what's happening on Yesler Terrace. Representatives from development firms and the City will talk about the plans for our neighborhood, what you can expect in terms of impacts, and when we can expect these changes. There will be opportunities for Q&A with panelists, and to sign up for continuous updates.

Parking is available in the Frye lot. Check the website for more details. All are welcome!

Support Bailey Gatzert Kindergartners!

The Spruce Park community is rallying to support the kindergarten class at Bailey Gatzert Elementary, located at
12th and Yesler.

They are looking to purchase books, including picture dictionaries, for all 85 of the incoming class. These books will help these young learners with English language skills and improve literacy.

If you but would like to support the cause, you can send a check to Attn: Sally Harber, Seattle University, 901 12th Ave PO Box 222000, Seattle, WA 98122-1090. Check can be made out to Seattle University Youth Initiative. Put "Bailey Gatzert books" in the memo.

Square Dance in Freeway Park on September 12th

Bring your partners and come on down to the Freeway Park Square Dance on Friday Saturday 12 from 6 - 9pm!

Square Dancing in the park will feature
