REVIEW - Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs

"I just can't wait" was the cry from the little boy sitting in front of me as we waited with anticipation for the curtain to rise. My two lil' ones (5 & 3yrs) were at their first musical - the People's Playhouse Theatre Company's Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs. My nervousness that they were too young to sit through a production was quickly quelled as they sat spellbound watching the kids on stage sing, dance and perform their way through an adaption of the Disney classic. They were on the edge of their seats, captivated in the suspense; they were out of their seats dancing and clapping; there were tears when they thought the intermission break was the end.

Snow White was exquisite, the Queen was simply brilliant, the Dwarfs full of character and all supported by a chorus of talented kids ranging from 5-17 years in age. There could have been no better introduction to musical theatre with a live orchestra and my kids enjoyed it far more than a trip to the cinemas (tickets were only a few dollars more and the refreshment bar MUCH cheaper!) The engagement they demonstrated is impossible in front of a screen and they haven't stopped talking about it since.

Remaining shows Friday, October 3 at 2pm & 7.30pm and Saturday, October 4 at 2pm. Tickets available here.

RAW Family Fun Day

Local Rosebud dad, Rick Westhorpe, was recently diagnosed with a rare form of non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. In conjunction with friends of the family, the Rosebud Primary School is holding the RAW Family Fun Day this Saturday, Oct 4 from 11am - 4pm. There will be live entertainment, SES car cut, jumping castle, cake stall, silent auction, spinning wheel, raffles, hair and glamour, face painting, tattoos, fairy bling and jewellery making, with lots of food and loads of amazing activities for the whole family. Make sure you get along and support this great community fundraiser.

FREE Family Farm Talks
at Pure Peninsula Honey

One of our favourite school holiday activities is a visit to Pure Peninsula Honey and enjoying one of their FREE family farm talks. The kids love learning about the bees and the honey making process, and getting to see up close all the stages. There's still time to join the fun before they end this weekend!

The team will be running daily talks at 9.30am & 10.30am. Bookings are essential by phoning 5978 8413.
