Having more fun with your honey.

Have more fun with your honey!

Oh, the plethora of very bad puns to be had with this topic! Linguistic antics aside, learning about honey for the Krupnik has been fascinating. Take that bee-dance for example. We've all heard about it, but how'z it work? Well when the critters get back to the hive, first they share some pollen with their buddies to let them taste how good the find is, then they do a little dance. Now imagine "up" in the hive means "straight toward the sun". So the bee orients clockwise or counter-clockwise to "up" (the sun), and gives a wiggle...or "waggle", as the bee-people say. Now the duration of the waggle indicates the distance. Ah, but the sun shifts you say! Yes, and so do the bees. They will adjust their angle very precisely through the course of the day, tracking the sun. Cool, huh? But wait - that's not all! The better the location, the more vigorously they dance. This leads to dancing competitions where one dancer may even disrupt the others dance. It's kind of like those really crowded salsa clubs where you always have to keep a hand on your honey...

Third Wish

This recipe not only shows off our gin, the name plays off the "Djinn" theme.

2 oz. Djinn Spirits Gin
1 oz. St. Germain
1/2 oz. lemon juice
Splash of un-oaked Chardonnay

Shake all ingredients over ice and strain into chilled martini glass. Garnish with a lemon twist...and make that wish!
