Juliet's Baby Boy

Teenage moms face many challenges in life, more so for those who are not married. God graciously gives people an opportunity to follow up poor decisions with right ones. That is our desire for 19-year-old Juliet, who grew up at GSF and had been supported by the GSF Scholarship Fund. We have been counseling Juliet for the last few months after learning that she was pregnant.

It was our joy to receive a phone call from Juliet on Friday morning (Sept. 19). She was in labor, and alone. The hard rains pounding that morning prevented her from getting to the hospital. Amy & I quickly got in the car, drove to Juliet's home and took her to the nearby hospital in Nyenga. Within 20 minutes of arriving at the hospital, Juliet had given birth to a 5.5-pound baby boy!

Pray for Juliet as the birth is only the beginning of many challenges as she strives to make wise choices and to follow the Lord. Pray for the baby (no name yet!), that he will be raised "in the nurture and admonition of the Lord."
