You are invited to join with AVCLP alumni at a leadership breakfast with Cathy McGowan, AO, Federal Member for Indi on Friday 17th October.
Wangaratta Performing Arts Centre, 7.30-9.00 am
Cathy will reflect on her journey of leadership and, as a graduate of the Australian Rural Leadership Program and her long term association with AVCLP, will highlight the role of Community Leadership Programs in rural Australia. Cathy will also provide leadership insights on her first year in Federal Parliament.

The Alpine Valleys Community Leadership Program invites you to a Leadership Luncheon with World Vision CEO, Tim Costello.
When: Thursday 30th October, 12noon to 2pm
Where: Gateway Quality Hotel, Wangaratta
Cost: $45 per head, $5 from each ticket sale will be donated to World Vision

One of our AVCLP alumni, Tammy Atkins, is featured in an e-book published by Victorian Regional Community Leadership Programs (VRCLP). Graduates from nine community leadership programs across regional Victoria have detailed their journey of leadership.

AVCLP - Program Days
Participants completing the annual AVCLP program are nearly one third through their course, and have already travelled to the extremities of our region, visiting Mansfield, Benalla and Corryong.
So far the group has completed an opening retreat, a skills development day, and program days studying the Regional Economy, Community Development, and Health and Wellbeing.

ABARES Conference
AVCLP was pleased to support the ABARES (Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics and Sciences) Wodonga conference held on the 18th September.
Guest speakers tackled topics from climate change to the changing landscape of agricultural land and sustainable agriculture.
AVCLP board member, Chris Mirams, delivered a very interesting presentation on the topic of resilience in farming, and an open forum at the end of the day, led by former ABC rural reporter Libby Price, was supported by AVCLP.
NECMA - North East Incentives Program now open
The North East Catchment Management Authority (NECMA) is offering a new approach to encourage more locally-led solutions to protection of rivers, woodlands and wetlands across the catchment.
NECMA is inviting people to submit an expression of interest for funding that will cover projects running across the entire catchment area, stretching from Omeo to Corryong and through to Bundalong.
Expressions of interest are open until 30 October 2014.

AICD Board Member Training
12th and 13th February 2015
AVCLP, in conjunction with the Australian Institute of Company Directors, will be providing Governance Foundations for Not for Profit Directors training in Wangaratta in 2015. This course is designed for new and aspiring board members as well as current board members who wish to develop their skills.
