Avoid Salt and You'll Have a Better Flying Experience

You often see people sprinkling salt from tiny packets onto food in airplanes. Let's face it, airplane food is bland, no matter how good the airline is... but is it?

Not necessarily: you see the pressure in the airplane cabin at "cruising altitude" is maintained at 2,100m (6,900 feet), and this significantly affects your taste buds. So the food which tastes fine on the ground will taste bland when meals are served... hence the added salt.

But people who fly long distances and/or often should beware: the air inside planes is very dry and automatically dehydrates you significantly. Add salt and you're making the problem worse. Flying-induced dehydration is the biggest contributor to feeling tired post-flight.

You want a better flying experience? Get onto the flight hydrated, drink min 0.5L/hr, avoid added salts, and get up and move around.

Try it...
