THIS WEEK AT KING'S
September 1-7, 2014

I got so excited as I was about to start this TWAK because I thought it was my tenth one but then I realized that I’m an idiot and numbered one of my TWAKs “2b” and so this is the eleventh. Great.

I also realized this week that I’ve been spelling “THURSDAY” wrong in the weather since at least the beginning of the year. Seriously, does anyone read that weather? Emma works so hard on it!

Disappointment number three of this week: still no cuneiform selfies. If it doesn’t happen this week I’m going to have to do it myself.

My roommates are playing Wrecking Ball and I’m really really sick and all I want is to make some curry popcorn for a snack but I can’t taste anything. Ugh. That’s all.

WEATHER with Emma

This week, Emma says "I've been elected onto the KTS exec, so if you see me make a big deal about it."
Emma Steen is a regular reader of the weekly weather who graciously puts together this detailed and emotional forecast. Look out for more in-depth and personal accounts of what it is like to be her in an upcoming TWAK.

MONDAY - Cloudy. High of 18, low of 7. Because the Maritimes is jokes. Welcome Frosh!

TUESDAY - More clouds. Surprise, y'all.

WEDNESDAY - Apparently it's going to get up to "20" and be "sunny". But we'll see.

THURSDAY - Ditto on Wednesday only slightly colder.

FRIDAY - My personal fave, high of 14 and a low of 2. Lol.

SATURDAY - Jumping all the way back up to 17 degrees.

SUNDAY - Probably equally crap.

THINGS TO ANNOUNCE

NOMINATIONS OPEN FOR COUNCILLOR POSITIONS
At Council today, both our External Vice-President Katie Douglas and Board of Governors Representative Anika Roberts-Stahlbrand stepped down from their positions. We thank them one gazillion times for all of their incredible work with the Union, and wish them luck in whatever they take on next! Due to the timing of these resignations, a by-election for both positions will be held next week, and nominations are open effective immediately. For more info, head on over to http://ksu.ca/elections http://ksu.ca/elections
Super important FYI: Fall Councillor Elections (for First Year Rep, Arts Rep, Science Rep, Journalism Rep, and Member-at-Large) are unaffected by this by-election and will take place as usual in the week before Thanksgiving. Go GeT yOuR nOmZ oN!!

Sustainability King’s is so cool, I’m green with envy. This meeting might be the most fun you have all week. They’re going to talk about what they’re doing, where they’re going, and there “may” be snacks. Not only that, but there will “definitely” be SustKing’s swag. #reducereuserecyclereswag

No experience necessary! We encourage anyone and everyone who is interested in leaping and soaring and turning or just trying something new to come participate in a fun hour of Jazz technique and choreography. Materials needed: yourself, clothes you can move in, water, and of course, jazz hands.

FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 19
