Drop by the Center and pick up a handful of these cards to distribute to your friends, neighbors, and to leave in your local coffee shop. Together, we can ensure our artists' work is viewed and appreciated in our town.

Amelia Earhart Comes to Alameda

With the sculpture of Amelia Mary Earhart complete, plans continue apace to situate it in Alameda.
Earhart was an aviation pioneer, author, and the first female aviator to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. She received the U.S. Distinguished Flying Cross for this record.
Thank you to Dick Davis and the Davis Family Foundation for the vision and the generosity that brings Amelia to Alameda.

Welcome Ros Harper who moves from Gallery Minder to Gallery Director.

An avid wood carver and woodturner, Ros teaches woodturning at the Mt.Diablo Woodturning Center in Pleasant Hill and is a past president of the Bay Area Woodturners.
"I see the gallery through the eyes of an artist and have found the Frank Bette community welcoming, inspirational, and willing to share information", she says. "Now, as a member of the Bette Board, I want to hear your views on the galley and especially ideas for continuing to keep it vibrant and focused on the best interests of the artists." More info.

The "California Quail Family" shown here won the blue ribbon in the carving category at the California State Fair in August, as well as the Woodworker Sweepstakes Award.
