Our Introduction to Photography Beginners and Intermediate modules are a great way for absolute beginners and those with some experience to learn more about how to take successful photographs (using a digital or film camera). Students are encouraged to develop their ideas through a series of practical projects and illustrated talks exploring the impact of photography in a cultural and historical context. Students can then continue building up a portfolio of work with a wide range of specialised courses including Advanced Digital Photography, Black & White Photography, Landscape Photography, Photographing People and Documentary Photography whilst accumulating higher education credits.

Creative Website Design 1 introduces basic HTML design using Dreamweaver and is suitable for absolute beginners or those with some experience. On our suite of Apple Macs, construct a simple user-friendly website, harnessing the power of style sheets to create effective layouts, navigation and typography. You can then develop these skills to a professional standard with our Creative Website Design 2 module and following that, our Creative Website Design - WordPress module, which utilises the open source WordPress platform.

Introduction to Digital Video is a practical course for beginners to learn how to shoot and edit digital video, get the best results from a video camera and discover what makes moving images successful. Over five sessions, a combination of practical seminars, creative exercises, film screenings and group discussion introduce students to the fundamentals of video production and editing using Apple Final Cut Pro X. You will need your own video camera to do the course (this can include a Mobile Phone or DSLR with video function or Flip camera).

Our University partner Cardiff Metropolitan are offering all students who studied Ffotogallery modules at Cardiff University a final chance of transferring their credits.
If you have any outstanding credits from studying a Ffotogallery course with Cardiff University pre 2009, please contact us by Friday 31 October 2014 to request a credit transfer.

Please note, because three years have passed since completing these courses, you will need to complete an Approved Prior Learning (APL) form proving your knowledge and experience against the module's criteria. There will be a reduced charge of £50 irrelevant of the amount of credits you are claiming for.
