Attract Your Ideal Customer: A Workbook for Making More Money is now available

Welcome to newsletter four of Attract Your Ideal Customer: A Workbook for Making More Money. It has themes I have been speaking about since 2011. The three big takeaways are:
  1. Create an ideal customer persona. The more you know about your ideal customer, the more able you are to publish content online that attracts her and gets her to call you.
  2. Use Facebook as a business tool and not a time waster. Facebook membership is now above 1.3 Billion users. You will learn how to use Facebook to attract more ideal customers.
  3. Learn how to monitor and protect your online reputation. People will check you out online before they call. What will they find?

Your branding includes your accessories

In addition to what you say, you can establish your branding with what you wear. A unique style or accessory can help define your brand. Here are some examples:
  • Donald Trump has his big hair. He told an interviewer once he could not cut it. His hair is his brand.
  • Bono usually wears sunglasses. They help maintain his coolness.
  • Chubby Checker usually wears a blue denim jean jacket and blue jeans. His website http://ChubbyChecker.com/ shows his brand. Background pictures rotate, but a foreground picture always shows Chubby Checker in blue denim. Blue denim is his brand.
  • Minnie Pearl wore a hat with a price tag hanging from it. The price tag was her brand.
  • Mark Anthony Germanos always wears red shirts when presenting speeches. His friends say he has to wear red all the time. When he doesn’t wear red, folks don’t recognize him.
Yes, yes, yes, I just put myself on the same list as Bono and Chubby Checker. Who’s writing this?

Chubby Checker gave us the song “The Twist.” I believe he still tours. He performed “The Twist” on TV a few years back while wearing his usual blue denim. That helps solidify his brand. Blue-denim branding works. When I was building the above list, I thought of the singer who usually appears in blue denim. What was his name again? Ah yes…Chubby Checker. His blue-denim brand helped get Chubby Checker’s name here.

Chubby Checker’s blue denim is intentional. Bono’s sunglasses are intentional. My red shirts are intentional. You need something intentional that will help folks identify you. Choose something unique.

What is next?

I am planning to a) receive 38 copies and then b) launch a book marketing campaign. This will include a book launch party at Romano's Macaroni Grill in Folsom. November 11, 6:00 - 8:00 PM. As I promised, I did not ask you to abandon Thanksgiving Dinner for my party. More news to follow.
