Dear Friends,
We're only a few days away from the largest climate event in history and our delegates have left their homes in the Amazon to travel to New York. Please support their journey and donate today to ensure it has a lasting impact on the future of the Amazon rainforest. Indigenous communities are on the frontlines of the problem. Now, they deserve to be on the frontlines of the solution.
"My generation doesn't have the luxury of inaction. Our future, the future of the Amazon, the future of our planet, is being decided in New York. As an indigenous activist from the Amazon, I'm not going to sit this one out." – Leo Cerda, delegate from the Yasunidos Collective
Help us reach our goal: make the call to Keep the Oil in the Ground – starting with the Amazon – front and center at the Climate March.
The world can no longer ignore the International Energy Agency's call to keep at least two thirds of fossil fuel reserves in the ground in order to avoid a global temperature rise of more than two degrees Celsius. We must act now to avoid irreversible, catastrophic changes to the planet.
For the Amazon and our global climate,
Paul Paz y Miño
Director of Outreach and Online Strategy
P.S. We hope you enjoyed our joke subject line! We wanted to be sure you saw our message, and we do get confused with Amazon.com a lot. It's time to take back the word "Amazon"!
