How and Why You Need to Cross Examine Witnesses


Please join the Barristers Section for this comprehensive training on how to cross examine a witness. This training will include reasons for cross examination, and uses for cross examination at deposition, mediation, and trial. Also covered in this presentation: opening statements, cross points, the structure of a cross outline, and the risks and rewards of open ended questions.
SPEAKER:  
Michael Gatto, The Veen Firm, PC
Michael Gatto is an attorney on the de Saint Phalle Trial Team, which focuses on civil litigation for personal injuries involving complicated medical issues and disabilities. In addition, he has experience with professional negligence matters and business disputes.

For more than a decade, Michael has handled catastrophic personal injury cases and has tried numerous jury and bench trials. Prior to joining The Veen Firm, Michael represented doctors and hospitals in medical malpractice actions. He now uses this extensive knowledge and experience to benefit his clients in personal injury matters. Michael also gained tremendous courtroom experience as a Deputy County Attorney in Pima County (Tucson), Arizona, where he represented the State in criminal prosecutions, from arraignment to sentencing, on cases ranging from simple misdemeanors to attempted murders. As a prosecutor, he handled nearly 100 jury trials and more than 150 bench trials.
