Llangarron Parent and Baby/Toddler Group

A very lively group of toddlers, babies and parents enjoyed a free Monkey Music session at the Garron Centre last Friday morning!  Thank you to Wendy, Ginny, Jenny and children from Llangrove Leapfrogs pre-school who joined in too.

We will be contacting all local parents of pre-school children and hope to launch a regular Friday morning group at The Garron Centre between 10am and 12 noon after half-term from the beginning of November. Parents could then go up to Llangrove in the afternoon if they wish for Fresh Air Fridays (a wander around and about the pathways of Llangrove for pre-school children and parents). Contact Val Sullivan for info about the toddler group on 01989 770291 and Wendy Price about Fresh Air Fridays on 01989 770450.

Huge thanks also to Zoe of Monkey Music who will pop back for occasional one-off sessions and who is available to entertain at children's parties.  Please contact Zoe via www.monkeymusic.co.uk.  Why not book Zoe AND The Garron Centre for your next party?  Contact enquiries@thegarroncentre.org for booking information and hire charges or see www.thegarroncentre.org.

h.Art @ The Garron Centre. 6th - 14th September

Many thanks to all of you who came to support this event in our fabulous new Garron Centre. The 19 artists who exhibited were amazed and delighted at the transformation of the North Aisle to this wonderful community space! We had just under 800 visitors during the week and so many positive comments about the venue. Special thanks due to Ann Taylor for rising to the challenge and dealing with exhibitor's and visitor's demands for 24/7 refreshments and to the PCC and local ladies for filling the church with flowers!! There are lots of photographs on The Garron Centre facebook page.

Date for your Diary:- h.Art Christmas Bazaar: Saturday 6th Dec 10-4 and Sunday 7th Dec 12-4 at the Garron Centre. Some of your favourite h.Art artists, plus some new ones, with a wonderful selection of affordable and unique arts and crafts for Christmas gifts and treats. Buy direct from the artist and cut out the middle man!  Refreshments available.  Please come and support local artists.

Llangarron Parish Council Neighbourhood Plan
Saturday November 1st - Neighbourhood Plan Consultation and FREE Apple Festival with games and prizes PLUS free refreshments 10 am -3 pm at the Garron Centre. Households should be receiving a flyer via the post shortly.

Fibre Optic Broadband - Fastershire

Please see below the latest news from the Fastershire project regarding the rollout of fibre broadband in the Llangarron exchange area.

"As you are aware, Fastershire is a partnership between Herefordshire Council, Gloucestershire County Council and BT to build a brand new faster broadband network across both counties.

The rollout of fibre broadband as part of the Fastershire project has been going well, and more than 32,000 homes and businesses now have access to fibre broadband across Herefordshire and Gloucestershire.

We had expected to have finished the rollout of fibre broadband to the Llangarron exchange area by the end of September. Unfortunately our team of engineers have experienced some issues in your area, which means that work is still going on. Boat Lane had to be closed to lay the fibre along this route. This was done with as little disruption as possible, and took longer than anticipated.  However the fibre is now installed and the work is being finished over the coming weeks.

We’re sorry about this delay, and can assure you that our team are working hard to overcome these issues so that you can soon benefit from faster broadband speeds. We now expect the fibre roll out of fibre broadband in the Llangarron exchange area to be completed by the end of December.

We’ll add any updates to www.fastershire.com as we make progress, and we will be back in touch once fibre broadband is available in your area. Please encourage your local community to register at the website so that they may also receive the latest news."
