Feral cat food drive in October

In honour of National Feral Cat Day on October 16, RCR is holding a cat food drive throughout the month of October. Help us replenish our supply of wet food for feral and foster cats in our care! Our wish list includes canned cat and kitten food, and KMR kitten formula. We request canned food since our dry cat food needs are being met through Champion Petfoods' generous platinum sponsorship.

The following donations are also appreciated: clumping litter, cat toys, Canadian Tire money (used to help purchase needed items) and gift cards to local stores where pet supplies can be purchased. Drop off your donations in the donation drum near the food court at the Northgate Mall in Regina. For more information about National Feral Cat Day, click here.

Vote for Regina Cat Rescue!

RCR has been nominated as Regina's Best Non-Profit in the Prairie Dog's Best of Regina 2014! We're thrilled to be nominated beside such worthy and wonderful organizations. Now it's time to go and vote for your favourites! (If you vote in at least 20 categories, you’ll be entered to win a prize from Prairie Dog.)

Congratulations to three of our volunteers who were nominated in the Best Volunteer category. Great job, Alanna Whippler, Kim Belhumeur and Sandra Klarer!

Bocados fundraiser a great success!

Thank you to everyone who came out to our Bocados fundraiser on September 23! Because of you, we raised enough to spay/neuter 17 cats and kittens this fall! Thanks also to the many businesses and individuals who donated items to our silent auction, including (but not limited to) Metro Pet Market, Imagination Ink, Regina Symphony Orchestra, Shutterbug Photography, Esthetics by Denise, Whole Health Massage Therapy, Rocky Mountain Soap Company and Capital Ford Lincoln! For anyone who’s still wondering, the 50/50 prize and liquor basket were claimed at the event.

Help RCR through the United Way

During the fall months, many organizations launch fundraising campaigns in support of the United Way, which raises for money for a number of local charities. Consider directing your United Way donation to RCR. Indicate on your United Way pledge for that you’d like to direct your donation to People for Animals of Saskatchewan Inc. Our charitable registration number is #899625990RR0001.

Thanks for your support!

RCR in the news!

We recently connected with the Leader-Post to share a bit about the ins and outs of our feral cat colonies and TNR program. Check it out here!

Have you seen our feral cat video?

Have you seen the video we produced to share the story of feral cats in Regina? The video highlights the work our volunteers do to help our ferals live long and healthy lives. A huge thank you to RCR volunteers, Jodi Gillich Benoit and Ryan Benoit, for their time and talents in producing the video! Thanks also to Sandra Klarer and Leanne Toth for sharing their expertise in the interviews.

Call for interest - co-chair, Fundraising and Membership

Looking to enhance your leadership skills in a meaningful and rewarding way? RCR is seeking a co-chair for our Fundraising and Membership Committee.

Ideal candidates should be enthusiastic about brainstorming and co-ordinating fundraising efforts for the organization. Even if you don’t consider yourself a fundraising superstar, knowledge and practice you’ll gain in this role will convince you otherwise. Review the volunteer profile and email us at.
