Culture Action Europe Annual Public Conference
Beyond the Obvious – from producing things to nurturing social capital
9-11 October - NewcastleGateshead
www.cultureactioneurope.org

"NGCV is delighted that Culture Action Europe's annual conference is being held in Newcastle Gateshead this autumn.  The theme of the conference has a deep resonance with the 10 building based cultural institutions that make up NGCV.

"In the past 15 years these cultural organisations have been part of a £300 million cultural led regeneration in Newcastle/Gateshead. The success of this investment underlines the power of art and culture to change and renew the society in which we live.  A city with a great cultural offer is a place that is safe, friendly, economically successful and is growing the social capital of the place. It's fantastic the conference is here and taking part in some of the NGCV venues and I am looking forward to attending."
