Click here to access more tips to prepare for interviews

With match season underway, preparing for interviews is a big focus of the process. Remember, though, that these interviews are also to determine if the program is a good fit for you and your career goals.  To evaluate this, make sure to prepare questions that address:
  • Details on the program's accreditation
  • Projected clinical experience/case volume
  • Any recent changes to the program
  • Potential educational opportunities
  • Expected lifestyle
  • Research opportunities

For ideas of questions to ask in each of these categories, check out the Fellowship Application Toolkit compiled by the Society for Vascular Surgery's Resident and Student Outreach Committee.

The Fellowship Application Toolkit is tailored mostly to general surgery residents, but medical students can also find tips on:
•    Building your CV
•    Drafting your personal statement
•    Preparing letters of recommendation
