SPOOKTACULAR

Halloween is coming to the Bloomfield Township Public Library Youth Room! Everyone is welcome to participate in the Spooktacular extravaganza on Tuesday, October 28, from 6:30 until 8 p.m. Wear your costume and be prepared for Halloween fun at various stations around the youth room.  There will be stories to hear and games to play. Don’t forget to collect some goodies around the library!

ELECTION DAY: Tuesday, November 4

It is surely obvious to all that election season is here! The Youth Room has many books about elections and government to keep our young patrons informed about the process. Election Day will be celebrated in the Youth Room with a special program featuring the various backgrounds of our patrons. Everyone is invited to come and decorate a flag representing his or her own unique identity. The flags we create will be displayed as part of a diversity exhibit in the Youth Room.

DID YOU KNOW?

Are you wondering about some good read-alouds for your first grader? Or what might interest your middle-schooler? Whenever you are looking for just the right book to engage your child, you can use our bibliographies to assist your search. “101 Books to Read…” are available for each grade level, from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. These lists are updated annually and cover a wide range of materials including fiction, mystery, science fiction, graphic novels, nonfiction, and biography.

While you are picking up a bibliography for your child, also look over the many other lists in the display. We have a wide variety, including award winners and assorted subjects and themes of interest to young readers.  Fantasy, historical fiction, mythology, LEGO, dinosaurs, Cinderella stories, and superheroes are among the bibs in our collection.
