Thanks to all who helped at the Working Bee. The boat shed has been cleared out with far more storage space now available. Thanks too to Simon for the awesome work done on RIB1, which now drives like a new boat!

Results from Spring Series#1

Gusty North Easterlies saw some thrilling sailing for our first race day of the season. Breakages and retirements were fairly regular. Fergus’s Tasar with its new racing rig and Bob crewing had some good ding dong battles with Rob and Daniel Neely in their Jolly with the Neelys coming out on top 2/1. The opti’s shared honours over the 3 races and the Starlings who braved the conditions had some excellent racing.

Force Racing Squads

Saturday 27th, 10am arrival time

Our Force Racing squads started on Saturday with a Goal Setting Session provided by Fergus and Paddy and a brief sail on the harbour. We have 6 or 7 sailors in the Youth Squad, seven returnees for the Opti Squad from last year and a new Opti Green Fleet with 5 members. If you are interested in participating in the clubs professionally coached squads, please contact either Paddy for all Opti sailors (021 772 813) of Fergus for Starlings and Laser radials. This was a great success last year with a number of FBYC having success at a National level.

Our 1st away regatta of the year at Murray’s Bay this weekend. FBYC have representatives in the Optimist, Laser Radials and Starling fleets on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Anyone is welcome to join the commodore at Murray’s Bay on Saturday and Sunday, supporting the team on the water.

Good luck to all FBYC sailors on the water in what looks like a breezy weekend!
