Discontinuation of paper format of unscheduled care folder and PGD

The October 2014 update to the PGD for provision of unscheduled care will be made available in electronic format only. Please check that your pharmacy is able to access this link here Health boards will continue to issue the signed authorisation form required for the PGD to each pharmacy and will also communicate any changes to confidential information e.g. telephone numbers for GP out of hours services (Direct Referral).

GPhC Renewals

Members should have received their renewal notification from the GPhC over the past few weeks. Renewals have to be in before 31 October 2014. Visit www.mygphc.org or call 08458725114 to renew.

Final claims for paper based smoking cessation

September was the last month in which you can claim using the paper form for the smoking cessation service. Please use this form to claim your final smoking cessation paper based monies before using the EHC only form from October claims onwards.

Review of Seasonal Flu Vaccine

CPS was informed by officials at a meeting last week that a review of the current arrangements is underway. Details are currently scarce and because of that we would advise you not to place any orders for 2015/16 at this time.

New PHS claim form for EHC

PCA(P) (2014)18 updates the arrangements for claiming of PHS payments. After submission of claims for September 2014 there will no longer be a requirement to claim NRT payments using the PHS form as all pharmacies from 1^st July 2014 should be using the PCR for new registrations and 4/12 week claims. The new form is available here and on our website.

Healthy Start trial extension

We have received written confirmation that the healthy start trial has been extended until May 2015. The conditions of the trial are unchanged. All contractors who sign up to the trial extension will receive a £200 fee to cover the extension period. To sign up and claim payment you should complete Annex B and return to Moira Hanley. Gluten Free Foods Additional Pharmaceutical Service

We have had feedback from PSD that a number of CPUS forms for the gluten free scheme have been received with missing or incomplete CHI numbers. The full patient CHI number should be included on the form as per the circular to ensure payment. This will aid the evaluation of the service at the end of the trial period

Courier Service Reminder

We sent you Royal Mail/Parcelforce courier bags for 2014. Please remember to use these bags and NOT the ones previously circulated. We have already labelled the new bags for you but you still need to write your NHS Board Code letter on the bags. We sent a further supply of these labels to pharmacies at the end of September.

Copy the “Customer Use Only” consignment number found under the small barcode at the bottom of the Parcelforce label on your new bags; Add this to your Pharmacy receipt for the day of collection. This will help us if we ever need to track your prescriptions.
