Last week we asked how you discovered intermittent fasting and it comes as no surprise that a great many of you (45%) were inspired by the original BBC Horizon documentary, Eat, Fast & Live Longer. Indeed, that's the way I found fasting as well!

What's really great to see though is just how many of you (23%) found this way of eating through word of mouth. It just goes to show that each one of us has the potential to change someone's life for the better by telling them that there really is a sustainable & successful alternative to the traditional diet industry.

Newspapers and magazines also account for a fair number of you (11%) being here and it's good to know that the press can be a positive influence like this.

However you discovered intermittent fasting, I hope you're finding it easy to stick with and working towards the health & weight loss results you're aiming for.

An invitation...

We often get enquiries about whether we can help new fasters to plan their meals or guide them through the early days of fasting. While this is something forum members can do together, we're excited to announce that we've been working on an online course to help get new fasters started.

We're looking for volunteers to help us trial this course before it is offered on the website. Whether you're a new faster or an old hand your involvement and feedback would be great! Perhaps you have a friend who wants to try fasting and could benefit from this? The course lasts for 6 weeks, can be done online and has two weekly chat sessions of around an hour plus a dedicated forum group.

If you're an experienced faster who would like to help others, you might want to consider volunteering for the trial to see whether you might like to be a course leader in future.
