Technology Update
Many of you know that Dr. Arnold keeps his practice cutting edge through state-of-the-art technology and equipment. We want to highlight two examples for you here:
Digital Radiography
Keven P. Arnold Dentistry has one of the fastest x-ray computer programs available today, to minimize radiation exposure to patients as well as produce better imaging results for use in diagnosis.
Velscope
The Velscope is a wireless, handheld scope that uses natural tissue fluorescence visualization to help discover oral abnormalities that can otherwise be overlooked. It is perhaps the best noninvasive, light-based screening system available, and is huge in early oral cancer detection. We feel that it is a tremendous benefit to our patients.

Sleep Apnea News
Dr. Arnold continues to enhance his specialization in the area of Sleep Apnea and related issues. He has established partnerships with several sleep disorder groups to promote the thorough care of patients whom he has determined require further evaluation in this area. Dr. Arnold is dedicated to early intervention when the condition of sleep apnea presents, and to helping his patients achieve a better quality of life through these efforts. |

Animal Teeth Trivia!
DID YOU KNOW that the narwhal, a close relative of the beluga whale, is sometimes called the "unicorn of the sea" because of its long, spiraled horn? That horn is actually an extended canine tooth, which can grow up to 10 feet long! The narwhal population is approaching "threatened" status. They are found mostly in northern Atlantic waters, off the coasts of Greenland, Canada and Russia.
The narwhal tooth is thought to play a role in social rank and dominance among members of larger pods, sometimes exhibiting "tusking" behavior, which resembles mild swordplay. Usually congregating in groups of under a dozen, they sometimes come together in groups of about 100 when migrating, and up to ten times that many in the summer months, after the migration is complete.

Some of you have told us that you enjoy Dr. Arnold's daily Facebook tips, so we decided to take the "best of" those tips and compile them for you here in an abbreviated format. Here are some of your favorites (according to feedback we've received):
-CHIA SEEDS are an excellent source of fiber and omega-3 -- a great way to help lower cholesterol and blood pressure!
-TANNING is not healthy! There are many potential risks to your skin, your eyes and your health. Try self-tanning lotions instead!
-IF GETTING ACTIVE is difficult for you, try using a pedometer to monitor your activity. If you take fewer than 2000 steps, set goals for more movement and keep a log to track your progress!
