IN THIS EDITION:
A Note From Sloan

As 2014 is winding down,
here in Ohio we've had our first significant snowfall and I'm already busy with holiday plans. I'm also once again taking stock of the past year, and I'm reminded of all the things I have to be thankful for in my life. My writing career and my readers are definitely near the top of the list. Thank you to each of you for your interest in my work and for your continued love of romances. I've got big plans for releases in 2015, and I can't wait to share all the stories I've been working on.

I hope you and yours have a beautiful and safe holiday season.

All the best,
Sloan

News about THE HAVEN and MORE series

I'm excited to share that soon I will be re-releasing a couple of my books, MORE (More Book 1) and HOW TO SAVE A LIFE (The Haven Book 1), under my own self-publishing imprint Sloan Parker Press, and I will also be self-publishing the rest of the books in each series.

I have a fabulous team in place (beta readers, editors, designers, and more) to help bring you these books throughout 2015 and 2016. The publishing world has been changing rapidly for the past few years, and there are more opportunities for authors to have a say in the process than ever before. I'm thrilled to be able to do more self-publishing of my work.

MORE and HOW TO SAVE A LIFE will both be getting new e-book covers, and minor corrections have been made to the text of each story.

There may be a few days (to a few weeks) where these books are not available for purchase at the various e-book stores due to the transition of the books to my self-publishing imprint. It can also take a couple more weeks before the books make their way through the distribution channels.

In any case, we'll be getting all Sloan Parker books back up for sale as soon as possible. I'll share a release date for the sequel to MORE (titled MORE THAN MOST) as soon as the details are worked out. But once MORE is re-released, the sequel should follow about 2 months later.

Now Available: Re-release of BREATHE with the Epilogue

I'm also thrilled to share that an updated version of BREATHE with new cover art is out in bookstores now. This edition includes the original novel as well as the epilogue WHAT YOU DO TO ME that was previously available separately. You can pick up a copy in both e-book and trade paperback formats.

The e-book is available at AmazonAll Romance eBooks, and Smashwords. It'll also be available soon at Barnes and Noble, iTunes, Kobo, and other stores. The paperback is out at Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and CreateSpace.

*For readers who purchased the previous edition of BREATHE, you can still read the free epilogue on my website.

Preview of MORE THAN MOST (More Book 2)

This is an unedited sneak peek excerpt. I can't guarantee this bit will make it into the final version of the book exactly as it is below. But in any case, I hope you enjoy the teaser. MORE THAN MOST will be coming to bookstores in 2015.

This is from Richard's point of view.

"Yeah." Luke's voice had slipped into its usual half-asleep mumble that always followed sex.

A few minutes later, when his deep, even breaths started up, Matthew turned to face me. "I'm worried about him."

"He'll be okay. It's just going to take time." Time I had every intention of being there for. I opened my arms, and Matthew moved into them, laying his head on my chest again.

I lived for those moments--the intimate, sensual contact following the sex. I wanted to feel them, connect with them in a way that getting off didn't allow. I loved to bring them pleasure in every way they needed, but the touching after, that was for me.

I ran a hand down Matthew's bare back and kissed him on the forehead. "Thank you for telling me about the dreams, for helping me get him to talk."

"I should've said something sooner."

"You did great." It was I who should've been there to pick up on what Luke had been going through long before then.

Matthew raked his fingers through the light dusting of hair on my chest.

I seized his hand in mine. "You know, I'm fine with the puppies. They can stay as long as they need to."

He turned his head and kissed the middle of my chest. "Thanks."

The scent of him, the feel of his warm skin against mine, being there together in the quiet, one of the two men I loved safe in my arms--it was perfection, like nothing could hurt him as long as I held him there with me in our bed.

That idea had me back to considering what Luke had said earlier about the house.

Did they see the townhouse the same as I did?

I cupped a hand over Matthew's cheek and embraced him tighter. He murmured something. All I understood was the word love, and then he was asleep.

It felt like I'd just drifted off when the muffled moans started.

I bolted upright. The room was still dark. I could hear the low intake of Matthew's sleep-filled breathing. He now lay beside me on his pillow. I waited, trying to decide if I really had heard something.

A low groan came from the other side of the bed.

Luke.

I threw back the covers and rounded the bed. I knelt next to him as I turned on the bedside lamp. He was asleep, but his upper body shifted with the slightest twitches. He moaned again, then mumbled, “No. No. Stop.”

Softly I shook him by the shoulder. "Luke, wake up." His skin felt cold, clammy. I wanted to warm him. I wanted to take away all the pain and fear. My gut churned at the thought of Matthew waking up to this alone.

I gave Luke another shake, a touch harder this time. "Luke."

His eyes shot open. He blinked twice, then reached out and clasped on to my forearm. The panicked look in his wide eyes had my stomach even more in knots.

"It's okay. You were dreaming."

"Yeah." His grip relaxed, but he didn't let go.

"He's not going to hurt us."

"Right." Despite his agreement, he let go of me and flipped over toward Matthew, who lay on his side facing us, his dark hair a disheveled mass of waves on the pillow.

Luke swept the tips of his fingers along the side of Matthew's neck. When he spoke, his voice was tight. "He was choking him." Then Luke traced the curve of Matthew's mouth without touching him. "His lips were turning blue. He just kept clawing at my father's hands, staring at me like he was begging me for help, and I couldn't move." Luke paused, his fingers lingering above Matthew's lips. "If he ever--" He swallowed down whatever he was about to say.

I slid into the bed behind him and spooned him, an arm around his waist. "We won't let anything like that happen."
