We're blessed with the RM Center property!
by Jesse McBride
We are definitely blessed with the facilities we have; however, with facilities, comes maintenance! The past month, Brad, Jeff, Konnor, and I have spent several days repairing our men’s and women’s dorms that have been leaking around the windows for years.
There has been some structural damage to repair, some drywall and vinyl siding to pull off, some re-flashing to do, and siding to replace.
Our goal is to be finished mid-October! We have a Family Servication coming up the end of October, and they will help us with some of our maintenance including rebuilding stairs and treating all of our decks.
It is exciting to see what God is calling RM to do here on the Coast; and along with those efforts with churches and leaders, we also need to take care of our “home.”
Soon, we will be compiling a needs list for some tools and materials, as we hit the ground running (sprinting) in January with groups, groups, groups! Thank you for all of your prayers and support, as each one of our prayer and financial partners helps to further the Kingdom of God here on the Gulf Coast. God Bless!
How would a Training Retreat or a Mission Experience Trip benefit your church?

NCD - Building healthy ministries
by Nelson Roth
According to the research done by Natural Church Development, one of the eight quality characteristics that healthy and growing churches have in common is their leadership is empowering. Pastor Felix and Evangelical Garifuna Church get it! The leadership gives their people the authority to lead and minister.
How about you and your church? Often everything in the church "gets pinned on the pastor." Sometimes the pastor holds on to stuff; and, sometimes potential leaders are not stepping up. What would it be like if the bulk of what happens in your church would be the whole group's responsibility?
In September, both Pam and I were in Chicago for a week of advanced NCD training. We are excited about the possibility of helping at your church. Consider taking the NCD survey and engaging in the coaching process offered by Relevant Ministry.

Christmas on the Coast
by Angie Hegstrom
As I sit to write this article, it is currently 81 degrees, so to be honest, it's hard to even think about Christmas. However, the truth is the holidays are fast upon us and we would like to share a Christmas idea with you.
Relevant Ministry is in need of some tools and light duty equipment for the RM Center and we are praying for churches and individuals to come alongside us to help make that possible. It would be great if several churches could partner with us for a "Christmas on the Coast." We have compiled a list of tools and other needs that will help us get up to speed for the teams coming to serve in 2015. The idea is for churches to hang cards with the specific needs on a tree for people in their congregation to select and purchase. The cool and fairly simple thing about this is that each suggested item has a monetary value; so, you can simply purchase a gift card to purchase the specific item of your choice. We would like to send out the cards by the end of October; which, will allow time for your church to display the cards for several weeks in November and/or December. Thanks in advance for considering partnering with Relevant Ministry for "Christmas on the Coast."

Add to your Leadership skills with RM Coach Training
The two-day Basic Coach Training presents The Coach Approach to Ministry, and is designed to equip pastors, ministry leaders, and their teams with a basic understanding of coaching skills that can be integrated into their ministry.
Here's what Donna Dalton had to say, two weeks after the training in September:
I have been using coaching already. Yesterday, I met with a new volunteer, who is officially going to fill the prayer position on our Task Force (that is a huge praise in itself). I was able to use what I learned last weekend in that meeting to draw out of her the ideas she had about that position. She had some very good ideas which helped shape the job description of that position.
Again today, I was able to use coaching when I worked with another volunteer worker. He is helping me by being a sounding board as I walk through the development of the Task Force and an upcoming meeting. As we talked I was able to draw out his ideas. Also, later as he talked about a personal situation, I was able to use coaching to help him.
There are upcoming training dates in October and November
