Dear Friends,

Sharing history is a fun way for us to preserve it.  At this year's Willamette Living History Tour, we had over 100 cast members of all ages helping to perform this one night step back in time.  Several families with children under 10 wore period costumes, performed, and entertained all while learning history and having fun with their parents and friends.  At the close of this year's Tour, you shared with us that you enjoyed this walk through the past. We heard from both performers and audiences how living history provides a way to for us to see, hear, touch, smell, and even taste history!

In an effort to include our area's historical preservation and significance into even more community programs, we developed the West Linn Historical Society to be an organization that can serve as a foundation for those of you with your own ideas.

 

Some ideas that have surfaced include community theater with historical themes, learning skills, building, repairing historical structures, and even school enrichment programs with historical curriculum.

 

As we get this new organization off the ground, we want to hear what you want to see in your community and maybe in your child's school. We think the possibilities are endless to experience and learn about history in a way that is incredibly unique and enjoyable.
