This e-mail contains latest information of various HSR related activities in Europe.

Preconf Building sustainable and resilient health systems (ERA-NET) EPH Conference
On Wednesday 19 November a pre-conference at the EPH Conference, Glasgow, aims to provide building blocks for a joint European research programme –ERA-NET in Horizon 2020 – on sustainable and resilient health systems. It is organised by HSR Europe, the EUPHA Section of HSR, EHMA and the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies. We will among others discuss a roadmap of key research priorities in this area and address lessons on the transferability of health services and systems evidence from one country to the other. A provisional programme is available here. Registration is open via the EPH Conference website. Costs are 120 euros for a full preconference day, including buffet lunch and refreshments in the morning and afternoon.

EPH Conference 19-22 Nov 2014 Glasgow : early bird registration until 1 October
If you wish to attend the annual European Public Health Conference 2014, please note that the early bird registration ends on Wednesday October 1st. As always, the conference programme includes a track on Health Services Research, including sessions about cross-border health care, European health systems, health care interventions, integrated care, management and leadership and patient choices. Also, the section on HSR will have its annual meeting on Friday November 21st from 12:15-13:00. Information about the programme and registration can be found here.

Preconference on patient participation and involvement in health care, EPH Conf
In this preconference on Wednesday 19 Nov, research and best practices regarding patient or citizen participation and involvement in health care are shared. The conference focuses on both the individual and the collective perspectives. Keynote speakers from the Netherlands, the UK and Denmark will address these topics. The conference programme is available here. Registration can be done via the EPH website and the fee is €120 for a full preconference day.

• President-Elect of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker wrote a Mission Letter on the need to develop expertise on performance assessments of health systems
• Advisory Group on Health provided an advice report for the workplan 2016-2017 of H-2020
• Paper on the co-location of non-physicians in GP practices in Canada and New Zealand and the associations with activities related to chronic care management.
• Paper on trends in socioeconomic equity in somatic specialist care in Finland.
• Special Gastein edition of Eurohealth “Electing Health: The Europe we want”.
