Relax, immerse yourself in nature, and become part of a global family community by giving back. Join Global Family Travels in beautiful Nicaragua for a relaxing mediation and yoga retreat and tour at a lodge on Laguna Apoyo.
In addition to rejuvenating daily with meditation and yoga instructor-led classes, we will learn about the local culture of Nicaragua, enjoy the sights of colonial Granada, hike (and zipline!) Mombacho volcano, make pottery, shop the local markets, and enjoy activities on the lagoon, such as paddle boarding.
A highlight of this trip is our time with the women of the Earth Education Project, a non-profit organization that empowers women with the skills needed to integrate into Nicaraguan society and labor market.

Nicaragua: Bridging Cultures through Soccer
Pack up your cleats and head out with Global Family Travels to Ometepe Island in Nicaragua where you will teach and learn new skills in a remote, but beautiful setting. Working with a local soccer team, you and your family will help to improve the poor conditions of the sports fields and participate in games, activities and Nicaraguan culture.

Join Global Family Travels in an incredible journey to delve into the culture and society of contemporary Nicaragua. We will work at Si a la Vida’s residential center on Ometepe island, where we help improve the facilities. The center is the second stage in the rehabilitation process of the street youth, where they attend the local school and live, work and play in the building surrounded by plantain trees and the beach.
A highlight of these two tours is sure to be the homestay with a host family, living as they do, helping to prepare meals and participating in the daily routine of the house. Together you will learn how to cook a proper Nicaraguan meal and interact directly with the members of the family, learning names, games and sharing traditions from your world and theirs. Become a part of a family and create a bond that will continue to grow with each new exchange. |
