Watch over your children, O Lord, as their days increase. Bless them and guide them wherever they may be. Strengthen them where they stand. Comfort them when discouraged or lonely. Raise them up when they fall, and in their hearts, may your peace that passes all understanding, abide with them for ever.  In the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

 This Wednesday, October 1, 7pm
Episcopalians and Lutherans: Separated at birth (give or take 17 years)
Ched Hinger will lead a discussion about the Episcopalians and Lutherans. The ECUSA-ELCA Concordat essentially suggests the differences are nuances. So what might they be and did it really need to take 465 years to work that out?

From the Vicar:
And the season is off and running! Hold onto your hats!
We have our first of our 4th Sunday of the Month Choral Evensongs this Sunday afternoon at 5pm.  We have a choir of eighteen singers from Holy Innocents, from St. John the Evangelist, and from down the peninsula.   The music is wonderful, the service is short, and who can resist dragons, angels, with sherry and other delectables to finish it all up!

Next Saturday afternoon, the Feast of St. Francis, will see us outside the church at 4pm. blessing our own animals, and those of our friends and neighbors.  TREATS FOR ALL!  Please take postcards from the back of the church to help you with your invitations.   Apart from wanting to bless our precious creatures, this is another opportunity to meet our neighbor - don't miss it!

And then, Sunday, October 5 at 9:30am, Bishop Marc will be joining us, and will be baptizing, confirming and receiving (from a different denomination) a whole bunch of us!   Please make a point to be with us to celebrate that joyous day.
All candidates are invited to be in conversation with the Bishop downstairs from 8:30am onwards.
Godparents and sponsors are invited to be at the church by 9am to participate in a short rehearsal.
