ATTENTION PARENTS OF KINDER THRU SECOND GRADE STUDENTS!
The Fall Staff Appreciation Luncheon - Soups, Stews, & Chilis - is coming up on Friday, October 10th, and we need your help to make it a huge success!   
We're using VolunteerSpot (the leading online signup and reminder tool) to organize our upcoming activity.

Parr PTA is looking for Vendors for our Craft fair during our Winter Wonderland event!  If you have a craft or items to sell please contact fundraising@parrpta.org to secure a booth!  Booth spaces are $45 for a 8’x10’ indoor booth.  Only one booth per business will be allowed.  All booth spaces will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis upon receipt of fee payment. Deadline is December 5th

We can’t wait to see all of your crafty items!
Joe Hayes is coming to Parr on November 18th! 

Ms. Woodson has preview books in the library that teachers can borrow to share with your students.
There are some ghost stories that older kids would love, as well as picture books.
 
Author information and  the book order forms are on the Parr Library Symbaloo. Checks should be made out to: Joe Hayes (not Parr).
You will get copies of the order form sent home with your student.

3rd grade choir concert starts at 7:00 PM

*The Book Fair will also be open on Friday, October 10th and Monday, October 20th through Friday, October 24th.

**Don’t forget kids and teachers can download the Scholastic Book Fair app and use it to make wish lists.
 
***Bookfair hours, preview, and online shopping starts early on October 10th and is available on the library Symbaloo.

All Pro Dad is back with meetings planned the first Tuesday of the month, October 7th and
November 4th, 2014.

Congratulations to the winner of the PTA fall membership drive.  Mrs. Bitts's class was the winner for K-2nd and Mrs. Edwards & Mrs. Roman's classes tied for the win in 3rd - 5th.  These classes were rewarded with an ice cream party and spirit stick!

It's Box Tops submissions time!  Our school will again be having a contest to see which homeroom sends in the most Box Tops.  Our goal this year is to earn $3,000.  You can help us reach that goal by sending in you Box Tops by Friday, October 17th.

In order for Box Tops to count towards the contest, they should be submitted in one of the following ways and include your child's name, grade level, and homeroom teacher:
  • Bundle your Box Tops in groups of 10 or 50 using a resealable bag or envelope.
  • Tape or glue Box Tops on a collection sheet, available here, on the PTA website, or at BTFE.com
Once we send in all our Box Tops, our school will receive a check from Box Tops for Education which can then be used to buy the things our school needs.  If you have any questions, feel free to contact Jan at jan.penrod@yahoo.com.
