New parking permits enforced starting Oct. 1

Campus parking is limited and new residents are encouraged to leave their car at home and get around Corvallis via the campus shuttle system Beaver Bus, free City of Corvallis Transit System, SafeRide, walking and alternative transportation (bikes, etc.).

For the month of September, staff and student permit holders may park in both student and staff lots. No permit will be required to park in the Reser Stadium lot or the new BR zone and the CR zone (resident hall lots).

Starting October 1, a valid OSU Parking Permit is required and must be properly displayed in any parking space on campus between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, year-round.

After 5 p.m. you may park without a parking permit in commuter parking lots, with the exception of spaces with meters in service, and reserved or other specially designated spaces.

The OSU Zonal Parking System includes two residence hall zones (BR and CR). See the Zone Map.

Shuttle Service

This year, Oregon State will have a greatly expanded on-campus transit system — to be called the Beaver Bus — that will operate throughout the year with convenient, predictable and well-promoted service. More information.

Local food sourcing at UHDS

UHDS dining services is committed to sustainable food sourcing and offers a growing number of locally grown and produced food and organic options.

Local: UHDS has three distinctions for local:
  • Regional: Grown, made or processed in Oregon.
  • Local Six Counties: For those local items that are grown, made or processed in our nearest six counties that include Benton, Lane, Linn, Lincoln, Marion and Polk, UHDS partners with the First Alternative’s local six program to distinguish those items with the local six icon.
  • Campus Made: Grown, developed or processed at Oregon State University.
Organic: UHDS follows USDA standards when labeling or identifying foods as organic. Organic foods are produced without the use of irradiation, synthetic fertilizers, prohibited pesticides, and genetically modified organisms. Producers meet animal health and welfare standards, did not use antibiotics or growth hormones, used 100% organic feed, and animals are provided with access to the outdoors. For multi-ingredient foods, 95% or more of the ingredients must be certified organic.

Natural: Since the FDA has not developed a standard for natural, UHDS defines natural foods as not containing added color, artificial flavors, preservatives, synthetic substances (high fructose corn syrup), growth hormones or antibiotics.

Fair Trade Certified: Fair trade certified products are socially and environmentally sustainable.

See a list of local options served in UHDS dining centers.

  • Convenient. A durable container that is perfect for people on the go.
How It Works:
Step 1: Buy token. Purchase a token (equivalent to one Eco2Go container) for $7 at the dining center register.

Step 2: Exchange token for container. Give your token to your food server and they will pack your food in an Eco2Go container.

Step 3: Receive discount. Get 20 cents off your total purchase each time you use an Eco2Go container. (Use it 3-4 times/week and it will pay itself off in 1 term.)
