Rob's Upcoming Shows

New format this newsletter: I'm going to highlight a few shows that I think are especially interesting and worth checking out. Can't make any of these, but still want to see me this month? Check my website's "shows" page for the most up-to-date list of everywhere I'll be.

December 2014

12/05/14 with Orquesta Sin Trabajo at Dance Union TWO SHOWS (Somerville, MA)
12/06/14 with Orquesta Sin Trabajo at Hartford Milonga (Hartford, CT)
12/07/14 with Orquesta Sin Trabajo at Amherst College Fall Milonga (Amherst, MA)

This December O.S.T. returns to Boston! On Friday Dec. 5th, we're trying out a new format: play a show for listeners first, then reset the room and play for dancers afterward. If you are curious about tango music but don't have dancing experience, this is the best time to hear us. You can get tickets and more information here. Full information on the whole tour can be found on the O.S.T. website.

Sweet Home Chicago

12/27/14 Solo Concert/Workshop at Seman Violins (Skokie, IL)

This holiday season I'm excited to present a solo concert of (mostly) original music for violin and voice at Seman Violins in Skokie, IL. They have a number of excellent concerts/workshops coming up (just a few days later fellow NEC alum and MacArthur recipient Regina Carter will be stopping by!), and their new space has a beautiful concert hall/showroom, so you might want to sign up for updates from them too.

After the concert I'll be teaching a workshop for violinists interested in improvisation, jazz, and swing styles. Tell all your string playing friends: come for the concert, stay for the workshop!

New Ardigan Video (Coming Soon)

Recently Ardigan got together in Jamaica Plain to take some band photos and film some live videos (to be released at a later date). Three of the four instruments pictured here made their way into the live recordings. Can you guess which one wasn't used? Post your answer on the Ardigan Facebook or Twitter pages if you think you know.
