Hello. In this issue, we continue to present the work of Jenny Seals, our current participant in 'Meet the Artist', more of whom you can read below and on www.emvan.net/content/meet-artist-jenny-seals. Let us know if you'd like to take part.

We've uploaded some photographs from our Paying Artists Campaign event in September, and hope to have a few video clips for you soon too. To keep abreast of the discussion follow @AIR_artists.

As ever, there's loads more on www.emvan.net, plus the latest news from the sector. We're really enjoying receiving your studio snapshots, so do keep them coming and don't forget to keep uploading your events and opportunities too.

Have a happy couple of weeks!

MEET THE ARTIST: JENNY SEALS

Jenny is the latest artist in our 'Meet the Artist' feature.

She is a 2D artist using mixed media to achieve small, atmospheric pieces that describe a place or person. She is fascinated by how our senses can retrieve a memory like the scent of new mown grass taking her back to her school playing fields or lying on the lawn at her family home.

She is more interested in atmosphere than precise detail, hoping that the images provoke a similar response in the viewer to a sensual reminder of a memory.

She often starts with an old photograph and weaves her mind around it to imagine the feeling of the person depicted. If it is a place, she will visit it and take her own photographs and then use the visual reminder of the photograph, with the feelings that she had, to make the finished piece.
