As a French Translator, you will work directly with our French Localization Team in a rapidly changing environment to ensure the quality of a large volume of new game titles for our French web portal www.bigfishgames.fr. Your responsibilities will be, but are not limited to, translating and proofreading game content as well as ensuring that linguistic quality adheres to our high standards and guidelines. You excel at handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment – all with the goal of furthering the company’s international growth and success. Additionally, you have a passion for linguistics and Big Fish products; you love to take on new challenges and are eager to join an agile, fun, and culturally diverse team that’s on the forefront of casual gaming.  

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

• Perform game translations, proofread translations, and write marketing copies on a variety of games
• Translate and proofread a variety of texts for Big Fish French Portal.
• Handle additional projects for the French site as needed.

Required experience and knowledge:  

• Associate’s degree or language/linguistic field degree preferred.
• Must be a native French speaker and fluent in English.
• English to French translation experience (exposure to TRADOS is a plus).
• Great attention to detail and passionate about the French language.
• Experience working with XML and HTML a plus.
• Ability to be a team player who works well in a culturally diverse environment while shining as an individual and maintaining a sense of humor.
• Excellent computer skills and MS Office Suite knowledge.
• Strong knowledge of French culture and our target audience.

Company/Position Description:

CICD is seeking a motivated and capable Assistant to the International Programs Manager. Center for International Career Development (CICD) is a U.S. Department of State-designated J-1 program sponsor organization based in Seattle. CICD facilitates international internships, training and work and travel programs for qualified international participants from around the world.

• Start Date: Immediate
• Hours: 20+ hours / week

Location: Seattle, WA (University District)

Tasks and Activities:

PROGRAM PROMOTION

• Update marketing materials and online program descriptions (experience with Photoshop a plus)
• Accompany Program Manager to presentations at culinary schools, career fairs and other venues
• Communicate using electronic/social media promoting our programs (in French and English)

PARTICIPANT PROCESSING AND ENROLLMENT

• Assist with participants’ enrollment, selection, placement, interviews, documents, assessment, invoicing…
• Prepare participant applications for enrollment in overseas partners’ programs
• Answer participants’ questions/concerns

Assist with:

• Preparation of Training Agreements and all other relevant documents for partners/government agencies.
• Checking visa-related matters
• Booking insurance
• Preparing and organizing pre-departure meetings at the Seattle office
• Sending pre-departure packages
• Confirming arrival pick-up with partners
• Processing partner payments

PROGRAM-RELATED TASKS

• Confirm participant arrival.
• Coordinate arrival pick-up with host companies.
• Assist with reviewing participant/company check-ins by email or Skype
• Compile comments for future testimonials and photos for website gallery
• Send evaluations and certificates of completion to host companies
• Assist with preparing annual “Returnee” meeting with former and future participants

Position Requirements:

• English Fluency
• French Fluency
• Available 20+ hours/week (somewhat flexible hours)
• Extremely detail-oriented and organized
• Great people skills
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Familiar with MS Windows and MS Office
• Fast learner who excels at cooperative team work
