WHAT'S 'GROW-ING' ON IN THE GARDEN:

We're close to wrapping up the 2014 growing season. Yesterday, we harvested all the remaining cow peas (3.5 lbs), peanuts (2.5 lbs), and green beans (3 lbs). We also harvested 6.4 lbs of kale, which will continue to grow throughout the winter. Our mustard greens will also continue to grow a little later into fall.

The cover crops seeds that we will be planting are hairy vetch and winter rye. Once planted, the garden will slowly begin its hibernation until the spring. This lull will provide the perfect opportunity for interested volunteers to get together and start planning for 2015. Stay tuned for a planning party invite!

That's it for now,
see you in the garden!

Putting into your mouth what the Earth has grown is perhaps your most direct connection to [it].
