Upcoming Events
Hour of Prayer
Come join us for a time of worship and prayer on Wednesday 22 Oct from 7pm to 8pm in the church auditorium as we seek God's face and intercede on behalf of our church, families, community and country.
SubiKids Shine Event
The Shine Event will be on Friday 31 Oct from 4-6pm at Subi Church. This annual event, now in it's 3rd year, is an alternative to Halloween, and all kids up to 12 years of age are invited to this free event! Come and enjoy games & activities, face painting, balloon-shaping, crafts and lolly bags, and grab a sausage on the way out (voluntary donation for Compassion International).
We need volunteers! Can you help with an activity or man the sausage sizzle? Or perhaps you'd like to donate some lollies - you can either drop them off at the Church Office or bring them in with you on the weekend. Email Caren Forlin (Caren.Forlin@subiacochurch.com) for more information or if you'd like to volunteer.

Upcoming Courses
God Empowered Wife
The God Empowered Wife is an 8 week course, which aims to give women a new understanding of what it means to please God as a wife. Neither old fashioned submission nor feminism, but rather what God intended from the start. Be prepared to watch the love in your marriage be renewed and restored: bad marriages become good and good marriages great. Starts Thursday 16 Oct at 7pm in Subi Church. For more information or to register, contact Tracey Johnston (Tracey.Johnston@subiacochurch.com).
The Parenting Course
This 5-week course is designed for any parent/caregiver with children up to the age of 10 desiring to improve their parenting skills. It is highly practical and aims to provide parents with the tools for the areas in which they often find they need support. The course is based on Christian principles, but is relevant and helpful for any parent regardless of faith or background. Cost is $20 per participant and commences on Friday 31 Oct from 9.30am to 12pm and runs for 5 Friday mornings. Limited places available for children to attend with parent/caregiver. Parents are encouraged to make alternative arrangements for childcare where possible. For more information or to register, contact Karen Leroux (playgroup@subiacochurch.com or 9316 9821).

Subi Youth
Oompa Loompa Faith
Calling all high schoolers to join us at Subi Youth for the start of term 4 this Friday night @7pm. This term is all about oompa loompa faith :) The oompa loompa's are the little people from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory who work in the background to keep the factory running. We often focus on the big people and the big stories of the Bible - Noah's Ark, Moses & Paul, but this term is all about finding the smaller stories in the Bible (the oompa loompa stories) and seeing what we can learn from them. Hope to see you there! doom-pa-dee-do :)

Community Outreach
Art Seeds
Art Seeds will take a break for three weeks in October. Meetings on Friday mornings will resume from 24 October. Our meetings are informal where people can bring in their own art or craft project to work alongside others and our friendly facilitators lend a hand if guidance is required. Beginners to advanced artists and crafters are all welcome! Click here to view our newsletter for a sneak peek at what Art Seeds has been up to!
Coffee Morning
Join us in the church cafe on Tuesday, 28 October between 9.00am and 11.30am for an outreach to those in our community. This is also an opportunity to invite a friend who may need to be reminded how special they are, or practise their English and be blessed by Christian fellowship.
Children are also welcome with their parents or carers.
The morning will be at no cost but if anyone would like to bring cake or biscuits that would be greatly appreciated. We also need volunteers to help setup, serve tea and coffee or make our guests feel welcome.
To find out more about the event or helping, please contact Shani (0447 589 727 or shani_nel@yahoo.co.uk).

Missions
Letter from MECOC Churches
The 14 churches that form the Bunam area council have sent us greetings and offer us encouragement in what we are doing at Subi Church. They have been blessed by our team visits over the years when we have stayed in local villages and brought a number of training programs. Mike Bullard, wo was introduced to PNG through a Subi program a few years back recently spent a 4 days at Bunam leading a health program for women and children as well as running a short pastors conference.
Morex, a dynamic young youth leader injured his back some 10 years ago and has been a paraplegic since then. He is confined to a wheelchair, but this has not diminished his passion for the Lords work.It is amazing how he gets around the village along the muddy tracks and even travels by canoe to other places, relying on the younger men to lift him and the wheelchair from boat to land, over obstacles and through difficult places. His current wheelchair which he has had since his accident is at the end of its useful life and we have agreed to finance a new, and hopefully easier to use, "off road" model - for about $250.00. A small amount for a man who runs an amazing ministry in an environment where most of us able bodies people would find it really difficult to survive.
