RDA Far West are facilitating the Inaugural 2014 Far West NSW Excellence in Business Awards and the response to the awards by business houses and the general public has been outstanding with over 900 nominations received including the extremely popular People's Choice Category and Service with a Smile Category. Its been a long time since business awards have been held in the far west and the interest shown by businesses has proved there is a need for this type of awards recognition to be held.

Winter Olympic Gold Medallist from Salt Lake City 2002 'Last Man Standing', Steven Bradbury an inspiration to us all, will be the guest speaker. Steven is one of the world's most colourful Olympic Champions, participating in 4 Olympic Games and beating the 4 times world champion in the semi finals to make that final. Steven's impressive career has been driven by determination, sacrifice and most importantly the will to succeed.
Steven will speak about business and sport, he began making speed skates with Clint Jensen in 1997 and together they formed the Revolutionary Boot Company (RBC). Today RBC exports to 19 countries around the world making elite custom and standard Speed Skating Boots for Long Track, Short Track and Inline Speed Skating and more recently RBC has developed state of the art cycling shoes with track, road and triathlon specific models.
Steven has overcome adversity, in 1994 he was impaled on a skate and nearly lost his life, and has also suffered a broken neck. Steven was awarded the Order of Australia Medal on Australia Day in 2007
