$150k in Georgia Barnette Grants Given to New Churches in September

The Georgia Barnette State Missions Offering is still being collected around Louisiana. About $1 million of the offering goes to help supplement church planters in Louisiana. It also provides the budget for the Mission Builder program that helps church plants build & renovate first unit buildings. At the September 30th meeting of the State Missions Offering Committee, $150,000 in grants to new churches were approved. Included in these grants were The Way Church in Denham Springs, planter Scott Cheatham & Joshua Spinks (who also got $35k from NAMB's Legacy Church program for their work to restore a church property about to close); Fellowship South Ascension, planter Todd Blount; & New Life Church in New Orleans pastored by Dr. Ken Foy.
Renovations are ongoing at The Way Church in Denham, formerly Calvary Baptist Church.

Also, at the September 30th meeting of the LBC's Executive Board Missions Support Committee, 11 new works totaling to $13,900 in monthly supplements were approved. We're grateful for the generosity of Southern Baptists as we work together to grow the Kingdom in Louisiana & beyond.
