LABELED

Last week, I had the honor of being an artist-in-residence at Cornell University along with my talented friend Melissa Forman. We hosted multiple workshops, trainings, and presentations that wove together our commitment to art and activism. We also created an art installation in Flora Rose House made out of 6,000 Post-It Notes. The piece, titled Labeled, represents the way labels, both positive and negative, can become a part of one's identity. The faces depicted in the mural are portraits of young people who have participated in programming through our anti-bullying initiative, the You Will Rise Project. Many of the Post-Its contain words - both the negative taunts of bullies and positive, self-affirming adjectives - submitted by Cornell students and from around the world.

WAR PAINT

I'm back in the studio working on new pieces for my War Paint series, but these will be a bit different from what you've seen so far. Here's a short sneak-peek video.
