first, it is impossible, then it is difficult, then it is done.”

Last Sunday...

Last Sunday Pastor Chris began a new message series called: Knowing God. This series is wrapped around the theme of how God mysteriously interacts with humanity. The first message (last Sunday morning) was titled: How Can I Find Hope? The redemptive side of God.

In this message, PC spoke about the times of hopelessness we all experience in life. Even Jesus told us how difficult life can be:  John 16:33 (NLT)“….Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows….”
Hopelessness sees no escape; no way out, no road to a better existence. It drains our soul and spirit of life and energy. One person once said…."Where there is no faith in the future, there is no power in the present."
Using Exodus 6:2-7, PC talked about the slavery of the Israelites and the redemptive arm of God.

God told Moses, “I am the Lord. I will free you from your oppression and will rescue you from your slavery in Egypt. I will redeem you with a powerful arm and great acts of judgment. 7 I will claim you as my own people, and I will be your God.”
The conclusion: Through God we always have the hope of deliverance – even when facing the worst of situations. This is why the scriptures consistently refer to Him as the Rock and the Redeemer. This is why Jesus is called the Savior. God is in the business of delivering people – He can even save us from the jaws of death and the grave!  (See Romans 8: 35-37 & 2 Corinthians 4:16-18)

THIS SUNDAY: Our message topic is: What Happens When I Fail? - The Holy Side of God. This will be a very special message in which we will see our failures through the eyes of God’s holy nature and discuss what that means for each of us as we seek His healing, forgiveness and power to move on.

A few people have approached the pastors to ask about baptism. We would love to baptize you! Also, there are some people who ask for baptism because they have rededicated their life to Christ. If you are in need of baptism, please contact Pastor Lisa. She will give you a booklet to read which explains why people are baptized.  The Pastoral Team will set up a date for baptisms in the very near future!

to everyone who has served in the military and their families

Everyone is invited! Come prepared to offer a special

The LBA would like to say Thank You for all of your help raising the funds to pay the pastoral team's registration fees for The Gathering in January.  Our goal is to raise $2,300 and through the first two Sunday's of October we only need $775 more to reach that goal. Are You New to Community?

There are always new attendees here at Community! If you are one of them we want you to know that we are very happy you have decided to worship with us! We encourage you to please introduce yourself to Pastor Chris if you have not done so. He would love to meet you and become acquainted. Also, make sure to contact him or one of the pastors if you have questions or need information. Welcome to Community!

Trail Life Update

Our next campout will be at Lake Hope in October.  On November 8th, the state banquet will be held at Community Church.  David Servin, a national Trail Life USA board member will be our keynote speaker.  The Trail Life USA national board is watching Ohio closely.  Our state leadership team and troops are proactively setting the standard for the nation; and Community Church’s Troop 148 is helping to set that standard.

Make sure you check out what is happening with Trail Life. Click the link below to explore their website and contact Dwight Newell if you would like more information.

Have You Recently Become a Christian?

Many people have recently come to Christ for the first time or have rededicated their lives to Him. If you are one of those people, please share that with Pastor Chris or another staff member. We will not embarrass you in any way, but we want to celebrate with you, pray for you and support you.

Encourage Our Missionaries

In the hallway outside of Faith Hall you will find a bulletin board that provides information about the missionaries we support here at Community Church. Please take time to go to Wesleyan.org and find the Global Partners link. You will find many of our missionaries listed there. Make the effort to find their contact information and send them an email or text to share your appreciation for their hard work in God’s Kingdom.

Community Cafe

This is just a note to thank everyone for their food and monetary donations that help “stock” our café supplies each Sunday morning and Wednesday evening. Although our café is always free to everyone, every little donation is helpful. If you would like to provide donations or help our café ministry in any way, you should connect with Renee Dyer.

Our Student Ministries Wing...

is a secure area on Sunday mornings. Our sole objective is to protect our children and to make sure their parents are confident that they are safe from any potential harm. All across our nation there have been terrible incidents which could have been avoided if children were not put at risk.  Please be understanding of our new security measures and help us care for the children that God has placed in our care.
