Decide What You Believe About Jesus
Sometimes you tell them, show them and even prove it to them but they still don’t believe.  That’s what Jesus did with Israel.  His ministry was clearly focused on the Jews first, then to the Gentiles.  Time and time again, Jesus revealed Himself to the Jews but they continued to reject Him.  Even the few who believed His works and miracles were only able to muster up a superficial belief because of the fear they had of being cut off from the synagogue, which was the center of religious and social life for the Jews.  This meant that the sovereign judgment of God would fall on Israel and they would be left out of the Kingdom of God.  While God, according to prophecy, would harden their hearts, it would not come without the responsibility of their own choosing.  They would reject Jesus as Messiah and therefore receive the full penalty of that rejection.  The same holds true for us today.  We must decide what we believe about Jesus and face the full consequences of that decision.  Let’s talk more about this when we get together on Sunday.
