"Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying,
'See, the home of God is among mortals.
 He will dwell with them; 
they will be his peoples,
and God himself will be with them;
he will wipe every tear from their eyes. 
Death will be no more; 
mourning and crying and pain will be no more,
 for the first things have passed away.'

And the one who was seated on the throne said, 'See, I am making all things new.' Also he said, 'Write this, for these words are trustworthy and true.'" (Revelation 21:1-5)

Dale Copsey's funeral is tomorrow at 2 p.m. at Mountain View Funeral Home at 7900 E Main St., Mesa. A reception will follow at East Mesa Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) at 706 S. Greenfield Road, Mesa. You are welcome to drop off food for the reception beginning at noon.

…to make a pledge to the Light the Fire campaign, supporting our building and general fund. We'll be sharing results of that campaign in worship on October 26th. Additional pledge cards are in the sanctuary and you're welcome to let the office know your pledge.

We still need craft fair vendors and help that day! If you'd be willing to paint faces or monitor the bounce house, let Arline Stephens know. Help with promoting it in the community would also be appreciated!
If you'd like to be a liturgist (the person who reads on Sundays), we'd love to have you! Training will be held following worship this Sunday, October 19th. Everyone is welcome, including kids. We'll get a stool if we need to!
Youth Retreat is November 8-9th. Kids, are you coming? Let the office know! Adults, we're looking for a chaperon for the high school kids. Interested? Let Rev. Abigail know!
