Christian Music Videos
Now online... kind of
Every since we began producing Christian Music Videos, I'd wished we were legally able to share it anywhere we wanted - including YouTube, Vimeo or any other downloading or streaming service we could find. However, because of contract and copyright restrictions, we are only allowed to air tradition episodes of Christian Music Videos on television. Even still, over the years I've tried to be creative, finding legal ways to at least share portions or spin off versions of the show on the internet. First there was Surgeon's Scriptural Prescriptions, an online video series where only the devotional segment of every episode was posted. That lasted a few months before I decided to cancel it primarily due to low viewer interest. Next, we built relationships with independent artists and started CMV Mobile, a high definition spin off of the television series where only independent artists were featured. Again, due to low viewer interest, that show was cancelled. I soon learned that it is quite a challenge to get noticed on services like YouTube, so we chose a different route. I began creating the Christian Music Podcast, a weekly series featuring independent, contract free, artists. That show is still running today, but it isn't quite the same as a video show. Later, I even tried posting the devotional segments of episodes online again. It only took a few weeks before I stopped that endeavor. Early last month I believe that God revealed to me the best way that I can post episodes of Christian Music Videos while also staying faithful to the contracts and copyright laws that we've been adhering to for years. That answer is to post the devotional segment along with YouTube embedded music videos from that same episode on the CMV web page. That way about 90% of every episode will be available each week even though it isn't packaged in a single half hour episode as it is on television. Visit our CMV web page to see what I'm talking about. Each television version of the show is made up of the devotional segment, music videos, and "filler" inserts here and there to spice things up. All but the filler can now be viewed on our site. To me, this is the closest we've ever come to sharing the weekly television series to online viewers, and it is my hope to continue this as long as the show is running.

Base Station 29
Animation on episode 3 has begun
Late last month, I began animating episode 3 of Base Station 29. However, I don't expect this episode to come together as quickly as the second one did. Not because it is more complex in scope, but because there is another project that I plan to work on in tandem with the creation of episode 3 (more on that later in this newsletter). This, in conjunction with production of weekly episodes of Christian Music Videos and Christian Music Podcast along with my day job and other life obligations, will mean that I can't spend as much time working on the project as I'd like. That said, I am still very much looking forward to seeing episode 3 finished and will keep you posted as the animation progresses.
Another VOM Presentation
Join me in Nashville, MI if you can!
Last month I was privileged to speak on behalf of Voice of the Martyrs in Detroit on the 19th of October. And this month, I was asked to speak at Nashville Baptist Church in Nashville, Michigan on Sunday, November 2nd. I know it is short notice, but if you happen to be in the area feel free to drop by for the talk (see details below). November 2nd is also the International Day of Prayer. So even if you're not able to make it, you might want to mark the date on your calendar and join thousands of other believers as they pray concerning the persecuted church around the world. And if you think about it, I'd love it if you could also pray that my presentation goes well and that God uses me to appropriately highlight what is happening with our persecuted brothers and sisters.

KTF to Publish Book?
Animator, David Evans, to Author First Book
While animating episode 1 of Base Station 29, I also began writing a book in the hopes of raising money for our non-profit organization. When episode 1 was finished, however, I put the book project on hold in favor of focusing on animating the second episode of the series. The book is tentatively titled, "DAZ Studio: Designing an Animated CGI Movie". It is a how-to book, using episode 1 of the series as a case study for designing and creating a dramatic animated project using the free software. Currently, I would say that about half of the book written. And now I feel is a good time to get back to work on it. So starting this month, I plan to sharpen my pencil, dust off my papers and get back to it. I'll keep you updated on the progress in future newsletter postings.
