Get your restaurant green business certified! Maggie Hardy, Stephanie Lin and Judy Lai are the UCB interns working now to help Telegraph restaurants get green business certified. La Burrita and Julie's Cafe have already done it - Want to join them? Write to telegraph.green.certification@gmail.com if you’re interested in getting help with the certification process. They are also doing promotion of green businesses to students – a sample flyer at this link.

Interesting promotions: We recently featured the new Cupcakin Bakeshop, doing business on Durant and running a booth at a Cal staff appreciation event to promote its business there. Pappy's Grill & Sports Bar on Telegraph and Durant is running a raffle each month for ASUC student organizations -- purchase a meal worth $5 or more, ask for a raffle ticket and drop it in a box there to be entered - great effort to get Cal student groups thinking about Telegraph businesses!

World Music Festival -- it seemed to work very well to have the last Sundays on Telegraph and the last day of the Berkeley World Music Festival coincide - thanks again to all the artists and all who made it work!
Street Scene -- "If You See It - Report It!" has been distributed to all area businesses -- this is a great mini training in what to say and what to do when illegal activity occurs on the street, which is: take action! We need to do our part which is to Make A Report in order to draw attention and resources to address district concerns. Click this link to download another copy!
November Elections - The Downtown Berkeley Association asked City Council candidates a series of questions. While not exactly on point for Telegraph, the responses can give you a sense of how candidates think about business and development. See the DBA summary here. Also, the city council candidates vying to represent District 7 (which includes the Telegraph Business District) will be at the Caffe Mediterraneum (2475 Telegraph) on Wednesday night, October 22, 7 to 9 pm, for informal conversation.
