Sector Spotlight:
 Medical Centre

Originating in 1999 as a maternity clinic, the facility grew when the provision of medical care became a top priority immediately following the 2004 tsunami. The Medical Centre was formally established in 2005, and the Dental Clinic added in 2007. The compound now also includes a laboratory and pharmacy. This modern purpose built centre is one of the most comprehensive  medical facilities in rural Sri Lanka benefiting an average of 15,000 patients from over 30 villages every year.
