Lesson 427: Our Relationship With God
What Can Change |
What Can't Change |
Our fellowship with God |
Our sonship |
Experiencing His blessing |
His desire to bless |
Our assurance of His love |
His actual love for us |
His delight in our actions |
His love for us |
His discipline |
Our destiny |
Our sense of guilt |
Our security |
Why do I do what I do? Just finish this sentence: “Stop doing that, or God will…” The words you use to finish the sentence will reveal whether: you believe God’s love is conditional or constant, you live in joy or fear, and your service to God is willing or grudging.
Horatius Bonar wrote, “The love of God to us & our love to Him, work together to produce holiness… the free pardon of the cross uproots sin, and withers all its branches. Only the certainty of love, forgiving love, can do this.”
About This Series
The goal of this series is to become more useful in serving the Lord Jesus Christ, as an instrument in the Redeemer's hand. The theme verses for the series are Ephesians 4:22-24, Philemon 11, 2 Timothy 2:21
- to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,
- and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
- Formerly he was useless to you, but now he is indeed useful to you and to me.
- Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.
