Holiness, Godliness, Usefulness
11/24/2014, by John Kincaid

Lesson 430: What God Has Done

Ps.126:3 The Lord has done great things for us

Christ is our advocate, interceding for us with God the Father.

1 John 2:1 I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.

Heb.7:25 he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.

Jude 24 [Christ] is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless

God is the One who justifies; if God is for us, who can be against us? Who can condemn us?

Who can bring an accusation against a believer that might separate us from God’s love?

Rom.8:28-39 answers: nothing in our past or future can. Nothing in all creation can.

The verb glorified in Rom.8:30 is past tense. All believers are already in resurrection bodies, perfectly conformed to the image of Christ.

It just hasn’t happened yet. We can’t see it; God can. He is outside of time; He never has to wait.

Because of what God has done for us, we have encouragement and strength to do God’s will.

Mary the mother of Jesus found the strength to do God’s will:

Luke 1:49-50 the Mighty One has done great things for me—holy is his name. His mercy extends to those who fear him, from generation to generation.

About This Series

The goal of this series is to become more useful in serving the Lord Jesus Christ, as an instrument in the Redeemer's hand. The theme verses for the series are Ephesians 4:22-24, Philemon 11, 2 Timothy 2:21

- to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,
- and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
- Formerly he was useless to you, but now he is indeed useful to you and to me.
- Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work
