Concepcion risked comfort and familiarity to enroll her boys at Phoenix Christian Preparatory School.

A Mother's Love
Juan, Oscar and Uriel owe it all to their mom, Concepcion. Their mom decided four years ago that she wanted more for her boys. She wanted them to attend a school that spoke truth into their lives, that solidified everything she had taught them at home, that supported them academically and emotionally, and that provided a safe and loving environment. So Concepcion risked comfort and familiarity to enroll her boys at Phoenix Christian Preparatory School. Concepcion spoke very little English and relied on her boys and translators at the school to move through the application process. The business office walked with her every step of the way and introduced her to corporate scholarship opportunities. With great determination, Concepcion received fully funded tuition for Juan, Oscar and Uriel.

The year before enrolling her children at PC, Concepcion was diagnosed with cancer. She fought this ugly disease for over five years while she managed to attend each important event for her boys, the Friday night football games, the choir and band concerts. On numerous occasions, she communicated to other parents and school personnel that no matter what happened to her, she wanted her boys to graduate from Phoenix Christian. This fall, Concepcion lost her battle with cancer. Though great sorrow ensued, Uriel, Oscar and Juan found immeasurable comfort through their family at Phoenix Christian Preparatory School. As the entire student body encircled them during chapel to pray, one can only image Concepcion looking in on this scene and jumping for joy, that her unwavering commitment to PC was for this very moment.

This spring, two of her boys will graduate from Phoenix Christian! Oscar and Uriel plan to pursue college and possibly the military. Juan will continue his education at Phoenix Christian as an eighth grader next year.

The Arizona Leadership Foundation proudly provides scholarship assistance to private schools and Lexie’s Law schools throughout Arizona with no preference to religious or political affiliation. We believe parents should have a choice when it comes to the education of their children! The Arizona Leadership Foundation is able to offer scholarships through Arizona’s Corporate Income Tuition Tax Credit (CTC) Scholarship Program and the Disabled/Displaced Corporate Income Tax Credit Program. These Arizona programs are education plans designed to help low-income families and families with disabled/displaced children obtain the best education for their children.
