2014-2015 theme verse:

"Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. "
- Romans 12:12

Special note to our military and veterans

Tuesday, Nov. 11, is Veterans Day, where the celebration and focus of attention will be on the dedication of the new flag plaza at the corner of Clayton Street and Wesleyan Drive. All Veterans will be recognized at the start of this ceremony. We encourage all those who are veterans, whether faculty, staff, or student, to attend in uniform.  At the end of the celebration these veterans will have an opportunity again to be recognized with a formal salute during the raising of the American flag, singing of the National Anthem, and the playing of TAPS.  Your service to SWU is greatly appreciated and serves as a proud reminder of your service to our country. The dedication will begin at 4 p.m. with music from the 283rd U.S. Army Band from Fort Jackson in Columbia. If you are planning to attend and can assist with the transporting of the American Flag, please call Amy Reese at ext. 5006.

It's Preview Day!

The SWU community is welcoming prospective students, families and guests for Preview Day on the Central campus. It's a golden opportunity to make great first impressions on our visitors and let them experience some "SWU Hospitality."

Nicholson - Mitchell Center quickly reaching goal

Only $130,000 remains to reach the goal of $1.4 million to purchase and renovate the Nicholson - Mitchell Christian Ministry Center. The SWU board of trustees set a goal to raise $50,000 from the board members for this special project. They met their goal this week. Now, with 91 percent of the goal covered, we are getting close.

“We need everyone to consider making a donation to help us finish this campaign!  If you have not given, please consider this to be the time,” said Joy Bryant, executive director or alumni and constituent relations. “If you have given, consider making a gift in honor or memory of a loved one. Help us reach this goal. We can do it if we all work together.” Contact the Advancement Office at ext. 5006 to make a contribution or to set up giving via payroll deduction.
